Dr. Subashini Sargunan

Dr. Subashini Sargunan is an experienced consultant psychiatrist specializing in geriatric psychiatry, old-age mental health, and dementia care, with over two decades of professional experience in the medical field. After completing her M.B.B.S. at Madras Medical College in 2002, she went on to earn her M.D. in Psychiatry from the same institution and a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore. Her clinical career includes prominent roles at organizations such as Geri Care Hospitals, Athulya Senior Living, the Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), and Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Center, alongside former academic positions at Saveetha Medical College. She is an expert in diagnosing and managing complex neuropsychiatric conditions in older adults—including Alzheimer's disease, dementia, late-life mood and anxiety disorders, and behavioral symptoms—while actively implementing non-pharmacological therapies like Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and comprehensive caregiver support programs.
